trying to get this passport crap done, and living in the rathole that i do, we have no police close by, only have hire in dr.s at the most but we do have one regular.. so today i went to the clinic and asked the dr. if she could sign the photos and papers.. her response was.. i dont know who you guys are..!! i took a hissy fit and said that funny i was just in here this week for treatment from you and you knew me, and i said to her to check her computer to see how many times my kids and i have been treated by her and only her! so mad i was.. but she said no, i dont sign anything.. go somewhere else.. so i got mouthy and told them all (as well as the nurse sitting there with whom i have worked with a few years ago) that they should be all ashamed of themselves.. treating their patients/ex now friends that way.. that i would never come back to that clinic, would rather bleed and take the bus somewhere else!!

so now we will drive to another landscape to get a dr. that we know to sign it.. now its time to get dual citizenship so i slip all this crap next time.

well im half thinking i might print in the paper a dagens ris to the clinic here for saying they dont know us...  i mean its not like i wanted them to sigh over their bank account or anything!! just really ticks me off!! and wait till i get to work on wed. and tell the nurse there what happened and who was behind saying they didnt know us.. and if that witch at the clinic dares to come up to me and tell me what a wonderful boy i have (he is her sons conformation leader) she is going to get a real canadian blast!!  anyway time is ticking.. visa goes out the 4th of may and i still have no new passports.. think they will send me back to canada??

oh yeh!! went to the police today to get the papers signed and guess what?? THEY WOULDN'T!!  said they dont do that kind of stuff now.. rang around to halmstad and halmstad said no.. then comes one of the officers that were friends with mattias (dh) and tried to explain to us why..  and the answer.. too many frauds living around here so they dont do it.. so i blew my top.. took out the old passport to prove who we were, mouthed off and said its no wonder sweden is the way it is today.. if police who are supposed to be honest and help people will now vouch for them, they they must be liers like the rest of the of the other authority figures that we hear about daily in the news for lying.. got no response, just a click on the door and have a nice day..

so went over to the dentist (had an appt.) after and the dental nurse was like .. oh how your boy has grown. so i said you know who he is?? and she said yes, so i asked if they would sign and no problem.. when i told her about the dr. and police they were shocked.. could not believe what they heard.. anyway, posted it and hopefully in 15 days i have it back.

I so understand that having a guarantor, who has known you personally for the past 2 years is difficult while living here.  I made the mistake of using our local pastor (who btw has a D. Th.) the embassy returned everything stating they must be a medical doctor , I ended up using my dentist.

well im thinking of calling stockholm and telling them about the problems to get somebody to sign the damn paper.. they may have to rethink who can sign it, i mean if the bloody police cannot even vouch for ya, who can?? bank man, well i dont know ya, even though you have an account here for the past 11.5 years... blah blah blah.. its getting harder and harder.. so now i got the forms to fill out for swedish citz.. icannot think my son who has autism is going to go through all this should something happen to me..

no not yet,, thanks for asking.. they actually called me last week and said they were sending me back the stuff.. my dentist didnt write the proper stuff on the back.. ' i certify this to be a true likeness of......'  and then i signed my papers with my new married name and sent in just my marriage cert. but they would not accept that.  they wanted an id card and i dont have that with my married name yet.. sent for it, but has not come, so i had to white out the married name and keep my old one.. so stupid.. anyway i was kinda chinky as our visas go out may 4th but they told me not to worry about it.. i have been here 12 years and they will not send us back just because we are a few weeks late to stamp it.. but if they do give me a hard time they are to ring the embassy right away and get it settled..

so let you know what happens..

well visa went out in may and now end of july and still no passport or visa.. they have sent it back to me 4 times.. now the will not accept the dentist who signed it.  she has only been our dentist for 1.5 years, but we have been to the same dental office for 12 years and the staff all knows us and our kids.. blah blah blah... but the canadians would not accept that.. my socks are just rotting now!!

so called my lawyer who is a not. pub and when she gets back from vacation she will fix the papers..

I know this is an old thread but you can always have the Notary Public at the Canadian Embassy be your guarantor for your passport.

I didn't have anyone that would sign for me when I renewed so I paid an extra 300:- for the service from the embassy and turned it in there as well instead of mailing it.

I had it back in 2 weeks.  Fastest service I've ever had in Sweden that's for sure!

Be well,
Jana
